C's Story

~You know you want to know about them too!~

~Colin~

It was the day of my sister's wedding. I had not noticed anything unusual about the way I felt, but decided to take a pregnancy test anyways. Come to find out I was pregnant. We were not trying for a baby, so we were pretty shocked.

My pregnancy had been going great and then at 35 1/2 weeks I went for my monthly check up. My blood pressure was a little. The nurse did not seem to worried about it. Whew wee but when my doctor came in, it was a complete different story. I was admitted into the hospital. I was there a couple days, when the doctor finally told me I had spastic high blood pressure and would be staying in the hospital the remainder of my pregnancy and on strict bed rest. I could only get up to go to the bathroom and had to wear these ridiculous looking leg warmer pumps. Thank heavens I am a worry wart and already had everything done at home including my bag for the hospital.
Everyday in that hospital was absolutely horrible. I could not sleep, the food was not even food and I just did not want to be there.

At 37 weeks my doctor told me he was going to start inducing labor because my blood pressure was getting worse.
My heart sunk to my toes. All the pre-mommy/baby question went through my head. Will I be a good mother? Can I take care of a child?
The next day I began having full blown contractions, but he just would not come out. After 12 hours of labor the doctor thought it would be best for me to have a C-Section.
I have to say I do not think I could have another baby without having a C-Section.
After about an hour in the recovery room I got to see my little man for the first time.
Weighing in at 6lbs 4oz 19 1/2 inches long.
